A very special self-catering house: unrivalled views combined with a spacious, tasteful interior.
A deceptively modest exterior ‘Overwater House’, a detached holiday cottage in Lochbay, Waternish on the Isle of Skye, is host to some huge surprises not least the spectacular panorama of sea and islands from the large windows at the back of the house. There is no road between the property and the views just the occasional sheep, in fact all the photographs here are taken from the property either in the garden, from the patio or from the spacious interior of the house.
From the back rooms of the house, no other buildings are visible, just miles & miles of sea with the Outer Hebrides beyond. We are as proud of the interior of the house which is extremely spacious & we’ve tried to fill it with special furnishings and artefacts. We have Vanessa Arbuthnott fabrics, mixed with Designers Guild, to mention just a couple & many examples of local art. We have tried to create a very special holiday home, one that we use ourselves as much as we can. We have been delighted by the comments our visitors have left, some of which can be seen on the last page, many are making return bookings.
The house can accommodate six very comfortably, in fact, it can almost function as two separate apartments, ideal for families who don’t want to be squashed together on holiday. In the winter there may be the option of renting just the large downstairs apartment or the smaller upstairs apartment. Please note, we regret that due to the close proximity of the sheep, dogs are not allowed at the property.
